How Glacier Route Review collects and handles personal data under Taiwan's Personal Data Protection Act: inquiry details, retention, storage choices and your rights.

Who is behind this site

Glacier Route Review is the free editorial publication of Glacier Route Review Co., Ltd. (Uniform Business Number (UBN): 48801819), represented by Tsai Tsung-Han. The registered address is No. 117, Sec. 2, Zhongshan N. Rd., Zhongshan Dist., Taipei City, 104 Taipei City, Taiwan. The company is the collecting party (“data controller”) for every piece of personal data this site receives. Everything below describes what normal visits and inquiries actually give rise to — nothing more.

Last reviewed: October 2026.

What is collected, and why

Inquiry form. When a form is submitted, this site sends the entered details — name, email address, optionally a phone number, the chosen topic and the message — as JSON to its own handler at /api/inquiry on this domain. The specific purpose is narrow: to read the inquiry and reply to it. Submission is voluntary and gated by an explicit checkbox confirming this processing, which is the consent basis under Taiwan’s Personal Data Protection Act (個人資料保護法, PDPA). If you do not want that processing, do not use the form; the desk’s email and postal addresses remain open.

Consent preference. The cookie notice stores one record in the browser’s localStorage under the key grr-consent-v1 — the choice made (accept or reject) and the time it was made. It exists only so the notice is not repeated for you. It is not a profiling device.

Nothing else. No analytics, no advertising pixels, no session recorders and no third-party scripts run on this site. The pages you read are not counted, scored or shared.

Retention

Inquiry correspondence is kept only as long as needed to handle it, and in any event no longer than twelve months after the last reply, after which the message and its details are deleted. (This period is our proposed standard; if a change is ever made, this page is updated before it takes effect.) The consent record in your browser sits until you clear it yourself — this site never deletes browser data on your behalf.

Where the data physically goes

The form handler runs on this same domain; the browser sends your details directly to it, not to any intermediary service. Message content is read by the desk to prepare an answer and is not passed to unrelated parties. The site makes no cross-border transfers of its own accord.

Your rights under the PDPA

You may request access to the personal data this company holds about you, ask for corrections or additions, request that collection cease or the file be deleted, and withdraw consent to any consent-based processing (including the cookie choice, which can be changed at any time from the cookies page). To exercise any of these, write to info@glacier-route.digital or post to the registered address above; identification may be requested so that data is not disclosed to the wrong person. Complaints about our handling may also be raised with Taiwan’s competent authority for personal data matters.

Children

The subject — machine learning in professional risk management — is not aimed at children, and the desk does not knowingly keep a child’s data.

Changes to this policy

If the handling practices described here change, this page will say so before any new practice starts.
